The Richi Foundation began with one family's experience of childhood cancer and a commitment to help other children and families.
From Spain to Boston
In 2011, Richi was diagnosed with high-risk medulloblastoma, an aggressive childhood brain cancer. His family moved from Spain to Boston so he could receive treatment at Boston Children's Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
His treatment and the lasting effects of childhood cancer revealed how deeply the disease shapes a family's life during treatment and long afterward.
Turning experience into commitment
The Richi Foundation was created in February 2013. Its purpose grew directly from that experience: to improve the quality of life for children and families affected by cancer and to help advance better treatments and cures.
That commitment is reflected in Richi House, Richi Cure, and Richi pLGG Cure, connecting family support with innovation and scientific collaboration.
A platform shaped by purpose
Over time, the Foundation has developed an entrepreneurial model that connects healthcare, education, technology, nonprofit development, and international collaboration.
Its initiatives create value for wider communities while building the relationships, resources, and capabilities that strengthen the pediatric cancer mission at its heart.
